The Skylight at Albin Supply

September 1987. Luna stops for gas at Albin Supply, a failing farm co-op on a dead-end road in Hayes County, Nebraska. The clerk is a woman named Darla who hasn't had a customer in three days. She tells Luna about the skylight in the back storeroom — a frosted glass panel that was installed in 1957 and has never been cleaned. Because every time someone climbs up to wash it, they see something in the reflection that makes them climb back down. Darla's husband saw it last. He's been sleeping in the pickup ever since.
