The Soul of Our Nation and Redemption

from Hope for Today · host Yield to the King Ministry

John Lewis, a well-known civil rights leader, wrote an essay before his death on July 17, 2020. His essay was read at his funeral. Mr. Lewis’ bidding for all America is heard through these words,"Together, you can redeem the soul of our nation. Though I am gone, I urge you to answer the highest calling of your heart and stand up for what you truly believe." When I hear these two words "soul" and "redeem", they have a spiritual connotation. Soul is our breathing conscious body. Redemption speaks to the person and work of Jesus Christ, who died on the cross to pay the price for our sins. Psalm 107:1-2 says, "Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good! For His mercy endures forever. Let the redeemed of the Lord say so…" (NIV) Join us Tuesday, November 3, 2020, at 3:30 PM, PST, as we discus, from a biblical perspective, the soul of America and how our nation can be redeemed.
