The Special Privileges of God’s Kingdom

from MY Devotional: Daily Biblical Encouragement & Prayer from Leading The Way · host Dr. Michael Youssef, Leading The Way

There are two kingdoms: the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of this world. In today’s episode of the MY Devotional Podcast, Dr. Michael Youssef reflects on the Lord’s Prayer and what it means to pray, “Your kingdom come.” When we receive Christ as Lord and Savior, we are adopted into God’s Kingdom and made members of His royal family. We become joint heirs with Christ, beloved children of the Father, and citizens with access to the throne of God. But citizenship in this Kingdom also means submitting to the wise and loving reign of the King. Dr. Youssef reminds believers that praying “Your kingdom come” is not merely a future hope—it is a present surrender. It means saying, “Lord, reign in my life. Rule over my thoughts. Shape my desires. Show me Your will.” Because human nature is selfish, even our prayers can become centered on our plans, needs, and ambitions. But Kingdom prayer submits every desire to the will of God. Within every believer is a battle between the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of this world. But in Christ, we have the victory. So press on with confidence: your Father hears you, His Kingdom is advancing, and He will answer according to His perfect will. Join me in prayer.  Precious Lord, I thank You for making a way for me to pass from the kingdom of this world into the Kingdom of God. Thank You for Your promise to make all things new. I pray in the name of Jesus. Amen. The voice you hear on the MY Devotional podcast is digitally generated with Dr. Youssef's permission.
