The Spirit of Music - Around the fire with Edward Christie

NYC native Edward Christie talks about his lifelong relationship to music as a performer, student and its connections to spirituality. Fred and Ed discuss the concept of beauty in life and finding it in music, rhythm, harmony, melody and different styles of music. They also comment on a performance of the Gigue movement from Bach's Partita 2 in D minor for violin, performed by Lara St. John, and its effects on the brain and emotions.  About Edward Edward Christie was born and raised in Brooklyn, where he lives today with his wife Sonia. They have two children and two grandchildren.  He attended Brooklyn College, where he majored in music education and taught in the New York City public school system. Life events led him to a 40+ year career in Software Engineering, yet his love of music has remained constant.  He has performed music of many kinds, from playing in rock bands to Renaissance choir and musical theatre to classical music.
