Growing up in Muirhouse, Garry was taken into care at 10 and found his way through 36 care homes, addiction to opiates and prescription meds, a life dealing and being a courier for organised crime. When his son was born, he took control of his life and began filmmaking. The same creativity that kept him alive and out of jail was now winning him MTV awards and a BAFTA.
