The Square Go Films podcast #17 - Fantasy films
Jack Fox and Charlie Parker return to the podcast to discuss a few of their favourite fantasy movies. Ian & Sandy are back in The Venue in Kirkcaldy and Steed's marauding his way through Uruguay, so the question is will he somehow still manage to derail the conversation with a left-field offering? For the record, that's a rhetorical question.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-square-go-films-podcast--6206551/support.

The Square Go Films podcast #13 - Drugs (with Garry Fraser)
We welcome back Bafta award winning director Garry Fraser to talk about films where drugs drive the narrative. Drugs aren't cool, but drug films are! Expect everything from Cheech & Chong to Money's favourite film: Requiem for a Dream. We're not here to glorify taking drugs, we're here to glorify the films that glorify drugs. So light 'em if you got 'em. Given that Steed really did his homework on this one, we don't think we've missed anything out, but be sure to let us know in the comments if we did!Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-square-go-films-podcast--6206551/support.

The Square Go Films podcast #11 - Cinéma de France
Vive la auld alliance. In this episode, we welcome back Maureen Cuestas to discuss the films of her homeland. In honour of our Gaelic cousins, we roll out some tired cliches, butcher the language and run two quizzes to expose our ignorance of the impact of French cinema on the world. Tune in to learn some French filmmaking language, discover some great films and ask yourself "Is Vincent Cassel in this?" The answer is, of course, oui.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-square-go-films-podcast--6206551/support.

The Square Go Films podcast #10 - Garry Fraser (Director)
We explore filmmaking as a tool to heal and inspire social change with our guest - BAFTA award winning director Garry Fraser. Growing up in Muirhouse, Garry was taken into care at 10 and found his way through 36 care homes, addiction to opiates and prescription meds, a life dealing and being a courier for organised crime. When his son was born, he took control of his life and began filmmaking. The same creativity that kept him alive and out of jail was now winning him MTV awards and a BAFTA. We talk to Garry about his journey, his work on films like Trainspotting 2 and his own series of TV and films, all made in Muirhouse with a mixture of actors and locals. We then explore the amazing work that she is doing to bridge the gaps in the industry and get people across the sector working together. This is an inspirational story with twists and turns, so much so it nearly brings a tear to Steed's steely eye.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/the-square-go-films-podcast--6206551/support.
