Something the Dallas Stars and the Flyers have in common, they both hired new head coaches this offseason, with Glen Gulutzan returning to the Stars’ bench, while Philly hired Rick Tocchet, who was drafted by the Flyers in 1983 and played parts of 11 seasons, over two stints, with the franchise. Goaltending still remains a major question mark for Philadelphia, with Dan Vladar signed in free agency to compete with Samuel Ersson and Ivan Fedotov for playing time. The Flyers haven’t made the playoffs since the 2020 Covid-19 Bubble Playoffs in Toronto, having missed out for the last five straight seasons.
