Here are some suggestions for books on acting: Respect for Acting by Uta Hagen, An Actor Prepares, The Art of Acting, Truth by Susan Batson, Konstantin Stanislavski's books, Stella Adler's books. Suggestions for studying in LA: Leslie Kahn studios for comedy, UCB & The Groundlings for improv & sketch, The New Collective in Hollywood for scene study If you are in NYC I suggest studying with Susan Batson at SBS studios. Susan is Nicole Kidman's personal acting coach for 19 plus years. While training with Susan, I saw the likes of Oprah, Madonna, Zac Efron, Usher, Liv Tyler, etc. as she prepares them for their films!
