'The Still, Small Voice of God' (1 Kings 19: 9-19)

from The Stockton Anglican · host St. Francis Anglican Church

The Good News of Jesus Christ is not freeing us to do as we please and it doesn’t matter. It is freeing our hearts, minds, souls, bodies, and wills, to then realize (have an ‘Epiphany’ about) God’s Laws being the best way…the way we were created to live…the way of perfect love. The Good News of Jesus Christ is that God does not act in flash-bang-do-this-now-or-else ways, but reveals himself to each and every one of us in our hearts, and transforms us more-and-more by his Holy Spirit living within us to more-and-more incline our hearts to keep his perfect laws of perfect love. Sermon for the Sunday Before Lent, Year B (February 11th, 2024) from Fr. Luke Childs. Manuscript available HERE
