The Storm of the Wilhelmsburg (1863)

One of the survivors of the Wilhelmsburg wreck wrote a narrative account for The Examiner on December 26th, 1863: “Of the Wilhelmsburg, one of the largest vessels sailing from Hamburg, nothing remains but a portion of the after-part, which, in consequence of the strength of the deck, still remains a little above water.
