The Story Behind the Story, Part 1

August 25 - The Story Behind the Story Synopsis: Every relationship has a story behind it, a story of triumph and failure, potential and purpose. Dating and marriage relationships are stories under authorship, being written by life experiences and choices that bring life and joy or death and depression. However, there is a story behind the story of every couple: the story of God’s faithfulness and sacrifice for their lives. We may get stuck thinking that the current story we read in our lives is the true and only story we have, when in fact there is a greater and grander story at work within us: the story of life, covenant, love, and faithfulness. The story of our spiritual husband, Christ, lived so beautifully in his covenant with his bride, the church, serves as the best expression of the gospel in which we can most fully see the story of God.
