My guest was born in the South Bronx in the late sixties to a drug-addicted mother, who did not know who his father was, and into a world that did not want him. Growing up, he faced life or death situations every step of the way, it seemed. Not only did he struggle to overcome his own specters, but also those of his environment.He started to author these books as a form of therapy. In doing so, he realized that all the people around him, throughout his life, had been dealing with them own misfortunes.
