The Story of Felicia Hood

from Tell Me Your Story with Chris Baker Jr. · host Chris Baker Jr.

Ladies and gentlemen, it is with great honor and excitement that I introduce you to an extraordinary individual, Felicia Hood, whose life journey is a testament to resilience, determination, and unwavering dedication to making a positive impact.Born and raised in the heart of Cleveland, Ohio, on the Eastside, Felicia's story is rooted in the vibrant community of Wayne Park. Her early years were marked by a move to the Westside in 1975, where her father embarked on a remarkable 39-year career at Ford Motor Company. Despite the change in scenery, Felicia's heart never left her neighborhood, as she continued to call the Westside her home for the past 15 years, a testament to her deep-rooted connection to her community.A true basketball enthusiast, Felicia's heart beats for the Cleveland Cavaliers. She vividly recalls the historic moment when the Cavs, led by the iconic LeBron James, broke the curse and brought the NBA championship home to Cleveland in 2016, forever etching the term "Believeland" into the city's history. But Felicia's journey has not been without its challenges. Growing up, she confronted the harsh realities of racism, facing discrimination that led her to attend a special school on the Westside. Through the decades, she has witnessed the evolving landscape of racial equality and believes that the positive change initiated by millennials is shaping a brighter future for all.Felicia's educational journey led her to graduate from West Tech in 1988, a year marked by the dominance of IBM computers. Her determination to excel in the tech world drove her to tech school, where she became a certified computer operator. However, it was her entry into the world of banking at the age of 24 that marked the beginning of her illustrious career. This transformative journey started with a simple invitation from her cousin to fill out a job application with a temp agency. Felicia's ascent through the ranks led her to become an Assistant Director for a program that advocates for children from broken homes, those living with drug-addicted parents, and many others in need. Her mission is to create a safe haven, a sanctuary, and a center of love and support for these children. Felicia envisions a space where no child feels alone, hungry, or unworthy of love. Her goal is to empower them to believe in a future beyond their circumstances and to instill hope through education and positive reinforcement. In addition to her admirable work with children, Felicia brings a wealth of experience as a Compliance and Banking Executive with over 28 years of expertise. Her remarkable ability to mentor diverse teams, assess complex situations with precision, and spearhead solutions at almost a tactical level has left an indelible mark in her field.Ladies and gentlemen, Felicia Hood's journey is a powerful testament to the impact of resilience, determination, and unwavering dedication. Her story will inspire, motivate, and leave an everlasting imprint on our hearts. Please join me in welcoming the incredible Felicia Hood!
