Nala was known for his skill with horses and culinary expertise. He married princess Damayanti, of Vidarbha Kingdom. He was also a great cook, and wrote the first ever book on cookery, Pakadarpanam (पकदर्पणम). This story was first mentioned in the Mahabharat.
