The Story of Simon and Martin

from Explorando Nuevos Horizontes · host Beatriz Alizo Teynor

Once upon a time, in a cozy town in France, there were two little brothers named Simon and Martin. They were very good brothers, and playmates, always exploring the world around them. They loved bathing in a small pool, which their parents, Nathalie, their mother, and Bonifacio, their father, bought for them. They put it in the garden of their house, and they also bought them a very large round trampoline, where they played and had fun jumping and inviting their cousins, and neighbors to have fun with them! What made the relationship between these two little brothers even more fascinating was the fact that they had grandparents from different countries. The grandmother and grandfather on their daddy Bonifacio's side are named: Beita and Sebastian, both from Latin America and both speak Spanish. The grandparents on his mother's side, Nathalie, are European from France and speak French. The paternal grandmother Beita, decided one day to make an audiobook for her two grandsons Simon and Martin, and with her warm smile and her loving heart, she started to think about her two grandsons to take the inspiration and start writing, she started to look for the pictures of them that she had, and she wrote non-stop. She did not speak French and was planning to learn this language, but while she was learning, she asked Martin and Simon's mother, Nathalie, to help her explain to them in French the stories of her homeland, Venezuela. Simon and Martin sat one on each side, captivated by the stories their grandmother Beita told them about her ecological walks in the mountains of Venezuela, the music of that country, and the delicious Venezuelan food that Beita, their grandmother, prepared for them.
