The Suffering Servant – Part 1

In this sermon, we begin our series The Suffering Servant by looking at Isaiah 53:1–3, a powerful prophecy written nearly 700 years before the birth of Jesus. Often called "The Gospel of the Old Testament," Isaiah 53 points clearly to the suffering and rejection that Jesus would experience. We explore how Jesus came as God's revelation to the world, yet He was overlooked, rejected, and despised by His own people. Even though He did not fit their expectation of a king, His suffering was part of God's plan for redemption. Most importantly, this passage reminds us that Jesus understands our pain. Because He experienced suffering at the deepest level, He is able to identify with us in our struggles today. If you are walking through a difficult season, this message is a reminder that you are not alone—Jesus sees you, understands you, and invites you to believe His message and receive Him as Lord and Savior.
