The Surprising Benefits of Smiling - National Smile Day Celebration with Richard

from Richard Skipper Celebrates · host Richard Skipper

Mindy Fradkin started performing at 8 years when she booked herself at my own birthday party. It was a Beatles Party, in 1964 when The Beatles came to America. More about this in my one-woman show, "Ageless Wonders: A grown up guide to growing newer!" When the pandemic started and we went into lockdown in New York, a friend of Mindy's asked if she could do an uplifting Facebook Live, and Mindy immediately started doing a show in my apartment to help people smile (as well as herself!). 119 shows later until we could go out, she did baking shows, dance parties, interviews with musicians/authors, In my closet shows, and read uplifting quotes, and created fun with her toys/dolls, told stories about her unusual life. She then took her show to Woodstock on Sundays, and currently interviewing artists/musicians/actors and more on Thursdays at 8 PM ET. Stay tuned!     Her albums have charted on Billboard and at AAA and College radio, and have been favorably reviewed in such publications as The Wall Street Journal, The Village Voice, The Washington Post and TimeOut NY. Billboard.com called her "the stitch between the great rock and pop traditions of the past and what those traditions have wrought in the hypermodern world of the present", and legendary producer Phil Ramone said "she very much reminded me of Dylan in the way she approaches her work." A John Lennon Songwriting Contest Grand Prize Winner (Rock), Rachael has received several Independent Music Awards and OUTMusic awards. For more information, visit Rachael's official site: www.rachaelsage.com. Bryon Sommers, pianist, singer, musical director, composer has been part of the NYC nightlife scene since arriving with his first job working for the late great Burt Bacharach.
