Aunt Pettitoes sends her eight piglets away due to their mischief. Pigling Bland and his brother Alexander are to go to market, but Alexander loses his license, and Pigling ends up lost. He finds refuge in Mr. Piperson's house, where he befriends Pig-wig, a stolen piglet destined to become bacon. Pigling Bland and Pig-wig escape together. A grocer suspects them, but they outsmart him and run to the county border.
