In a previous episode of this podcast series (https://www.marxisthumanistinitiative.org/episode-9-the-tankie-craze-resurgent-stalinism-among-youth), MHI organizational secretary Anne Jaclard discussed her relationships with former “Tankie” and “soft-Stalinist” youth who are now disillusioned with Stalinism and have reached out to MHI. The latest episode features two of these youth––Logan and James (last names withheld). They join Anne and the co-hosts to discuss what attracted them to Stalinism, their experiences, and why they became disillusioned with it. They also reflect on why Stalinism attracts other young people, how to combat it, and why they have turned toward Marxist-Humanism.
