The Temptation of Sons: Overcoming the Lust of the Eyes, Flesh, and Pride of Life

In this powerful message, PO breaks down 1 John 2:12-24 to reveal the three main temptations that believers face at different stages of spiritual maturity: the lust of the eyes for "little children", the lust of the flesh for the "young men", and the pride of life for the "fathers". Through examining the affirmations and exhortations given to each group, the tactics of the enemy are exposed. The tempter seeks to get Christians to question their identity in Christ, rely on their own strength instead of God's, and fall into dead works that bring glory to the flesh rather than the Father. However, as PO declares, we have been given victory through our union with Christ. By keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, responding to the leading of the Holy Spirit rather than reacting in the flesh, and boasting only in what the Lord has done, we can overcome every temptation and live in the fullness of our sonship. This teaching will impart wisdom to recognize the common snares believers face and equip you with the truths of God's Word to walk in triumph. You don't want to miss this revelatory word!
