The “Thin Places”: Our Doorways to the Sacred

Have you ever heard someone talk about a “thin place”? Thin places are generally thought of as places where there is very little space between them and the sacred. For some they are great spiritual monuments. For others, they are natural places of breathtaking beauty. For many, they are as close as one's own backyard or the interior of one's own heart. Think of them as a doorway to the sacred where the membrane that exists between earth and eternity is incredibly thin.
