The Thing (1982)

This week we look back at John Carpenter's horror classic The Thing. This movie had the unfortunate timing of releasing two weeks after E.T. in June of 1982. Considered frightening, horrifying, and repellent at the time, it would go on to become a cult hit on home video and is now regarded as one of the greatest horror films of all time. Recently, it also had the honor of being added to the National Film Registry for preservation at the Library of Congress for its cultural, historic and aesthetic importance. Join us as we discuss the impact this movie had and how it holds up today. https://www.spreaker.com/episode/the-thing-1982--69862454 #horror #movie #film #80s #johncarpenter #kurtrussell #thething #Thing #alien #monster #winter #Antarctica #thaw #glacier #bleak #snow #ufo New Generation Video t-shirts in stock!
