Saying that though I think this is a pretty fun prequel that ends in a way that makes you instantly want to put John Carpenters on. Now there were several Thing sequels and remakes almost put into production over the years but they all failed to make it past the screenwriting phase. We even almost got a sci-fi series called Return Of The Thing that would take place in a small american town after the events of the movie.
