The Things My Narcissist Taught Me
from N.A.R.C. Troopers: Narcissistic Abuse Recovery Collaborators · host P. Pesqueda
My narcopath husband was a teacher for nearly 10 years. In fact, we were both teachers and even taught in the same school for a while. As educators, we continued to teach each other things outside the school day. I taught him how to be cultured and refined and academic. He taught me how to enjoy life in the moment with another person, something I had failed to achieve before he came along. But through the many years, the lessons got harder. And in the end, they were the most savage and brutal lessons a person could ever be expected to learn. It was a transformative, life-altering experience. Am I better for it? I miss the fantasy and intensity of the extravaganza, and reality is pretty harsh and painful these days. But maybe living in a bubble of mutual psychosis is unstainable. And maybe it was my chance to finally unpack the buried trauma I had carried all my life.
