The Things of the Spirit by Precepts and Examples - Day 2

The first mention of the Spirit of God in the bible was in Genesis 1:1-3, and our study of 2 Corinthians 4:6 makes us see that it was beyond the creation of the earth, and it actually had to do with salvation. Activities by the spirit didn’t start in the NT. We see activities of the spirit from the OT and they were seen as: - Prophetic utterances concerning Salvation. - The miraculous. - We see that people prophesied about the coming of the Messiah and His salvation long before the NT by the spirit of God   (1Peter 1:9-11, 2 Peter. 1:16-21, Luke 24:25-27, John. 5:39.)   In fact, this serves as our first precedence for charismatic utterance. Our surety that the things we speak will come to pass is that God first spoke and it came to pass. The miraculous was also in display from the OT and this was seen through folks like Moses (See Exodus 14:21-29, Joshua 10:12-13, 1Kings 17:1-6, 18:43-46 for references.)
