The things we enjoy watching — EP3

You watch people get eliminated and feel nothing. You binge survival shows you'd never last in. That comfort? It costs something. This episode starts with smoking tricks and internet competitions — content you consume without thinking. Then shifts: reality TV, Squid Game, Narcos. Why are humans fascinated by violence and survival scenarios we'd never survive? What happens when media romanticizes danger by editing out the fatal parts? And why do we keep watching? Topics: media consumption, violence, survival entertainment, reality TV, desensitization, spectacle vs reality. Vivian + Tiaan. New episodes weekly. This is a public episode.
