The Third Category // Be Loved in Crisis // Week 2

In this powerful message, we're challenged to expand our understanding of mental health within the church. The central theme revolves around loving people in crisis, particularly those struggling with mental illness. We're reminded that Jesus warned us in John 16:33 that 'in this world you will have trouble,' but that trouble can manifest in ways we don't always recognize. The speaker introduces the concept of a 'third category' in addressing mental health issues - beyond just spiritual warfare and scripture meditation, there's a place for professional treatment and therapy. This perspective encourages us to approach mental health with humility, compassion, and a willingness to support others in whatever way they need. The message draws parallels between mental illnesses and physical ailments like diabetes, helping us understand that seeking medical help for mental health is not a lack of faith. We're called to be more sensitive to the invisible struggles of others and to create a church environment where people feel safe to share their mental health challenges without fear of judgment. ————- If the buttons aren’t working, click the share button, copy the link and go to it in your browser.
