The three crosses

from City on a Hill · host Peter Anderson

"They crucified two robbers with him, one on his right and one on his left." (Mark 15:27). The two condemned criminals dying either side of Jesus powerfully represented the world, which has the sentence of death hanging over it. Both criminals had need, but saw Jesus, both were dying, yet one perished hardened in his sins and the other experienced forgiveness and eternal life. Christ divides the world.
