THE TIDE-MARSH by KATHLEEN NORRIS

The dramatic story of a young girl living in a small community while caring for her invalid mother, who is called upon to save lives during a bad rainstorm. A huge dance which she can't attent because she could find noone to watch her mother is taking place a few towns away and nearly everyone in her community is there.  An older man who lives near the marsh arrives at her house with news that a boat full of young boys is foundering out in the marsh and that the two oldest boys managed to get the boat to land and went for help, finding him- but now it  willtake a search party to find them in the storm.With the tide rising, the boys will surely be in serious trouble where they are.  Catch all our stories at www.bestof1001stories.com
