In "The Tinderbox," a soldier acquires a magical tinderbox from a witch (whom he then kills) which allows him to summon three powerful dogs guarding treasure. After spending his initial riches, he discovers the tinderbox's power, regaining wealth and using one dog to secretly visit a princess locked away due to a prophecy.
