The Lord gives commandments, but he also gives council. Many people wonder what the difference is between the two. What are the councils of the Lord, and what are the benefits to following them? Will not following the council of the Lord affect our status of going to heaven, getting a temple recommend, or even being found worthy? Certainly council is good advice, but is it mandatory to follow the council given by the brethren?
