The Town With No Guns

Originally Aired: July 20, 1938The Lone Ranger #855, "The Town With No Guns," the masked rider and Tonto arrive in Wellsville, a peculiar settlement founded by Easterner Zeb Wells. The town operates under strict rules enforced by Marshal Nate Porter: all visitors must surrender their guns, and no fraternization is allowed between Wells' Eastern settlers and Westerners. Zeb Wells maintains an iron grip on the community, keeping residents' money in his personal safe and forbidding his daughter Rita from courting Cliff Dolan, a local rancher. The Lone Ranger grows concerned when he spots notorious outlaws Dorf Layton and Monty Meegan riding into town, suspecting they may know about the cash Wells keeps unprotected.As tensions rise, young Cliff Dolan confronts Zeb Wells in his general store, declaring his intention to marry Rita despite her father's prejudice against Westerners. The confrontation turns violent when Wells threatens Cliff with a whip. Meanwhile, Tonto shadows the outlaws to discover their true intentions, while the Lone Ranger prepares to confront Wells about the danger his stubborn Eastern customs have brought to this frontier town.
