The Toxic Ex: Male emotional oppression

So I've been in a bit of a little tiff on Facebook with this kid from highschool over my post about my toxic Ex. He responded to my post by saying, "This is why men are the way they are and don't show any emotions." I call bullshit on that. Maybe he's was in a relationship where he wasn't able to show his emotions. I'm always open to discuss emotions as it relates to people in general, but acting like male emotions are a form of oppression is where you lose me.
