The Traffic Report: The Fright Night Replayables

from The I-5 Corridor · host Tyson Alger

It’s the Fourth, but allow us to take you back to Halloween of 2009 on today’s episode of The I-5 Corridor Traffic Report’s Replayables. It’s a Saturday night. After a dismal start to the Chip Kelly era in Boise, the Ducks have rattled off six straight wins to climb to No. 10 in the nation with No. 4 USC and its seven consecutive Pac-10 titles in town. It’s not the strongest team of the Pete Carrol era, but it’s still USC talent and the Trojans feature the No. 1 overall recruit in the country, Matt Barkley, at quarterback. An early-season shocker to Washington gave the Trojans a limp, but they’ve won four in a row coming into Eugene and might just be a win against these upstart Ducks away from reestablishing the status quo and rejoining the title hunt. Sure, the Ducks are averaging 38 points per game during their win streak, but there’s no way that fast-paced, gimmicky offense they’re running can hold up against the athletes the Trojans are bringing to town. Right? Tyson and Justin look back on today’s episode, plus thoughts on Oregon’s bounce-back week on the recruiting trail.
