In each episode, I chat with one bookish guest as we take some time to sample and savor the pairing recommendations from their curated bookish flight. We hope to give you suggestions to cultivate your TBR lists and nurture your leisure time through books. This is episode 0, where I tell you all about what I will be doing here. This podcast will take you on a bookish journey through book genres, seasonal reads and is a promise of an adventure through books. I hope to inspire you to read more, to read something new and to get more out of your reading life.So in advance, I just want to say that I am SO glad you are here and thank you for listening! If you’re thinking ahhh, books are not for me, I am going to go out on a limb and say that you just have not found the right book yet. In this first season, I will focus on perusing the different book genres with each bookish flight. There will be something for everyone! In a world, where we are too busy and have too many book choices, my bookish guest and I hope to pare down the options to the best ones. Managing Next Generation Energy Systems Cambridge University Background Stakeholders working with energy systems have to make complex decisions formulated from risk-based assessments about the future. The move towards more renewables in our energy systems complicates matters even further, requiring the development of an integrated power grid and continuous and steady transformation of the UK power system. Network flows must be managed reliably under uncertain demands, uncertain supply, emerging network technologies and possible failures and, further, prices in related markets can be highly volatile. Mathematicians working with engineers and economists, can make significant contributions to address such issues, by helping to develop fit-for-purpose models for next generation energy systems. These interdisciplinary approaches are looking to address a range of associated problems, including modelling, prediction, simulation, control, market and mechanism design and optimisation.
