We are told "the doctrine of the trinity is really really important" but then most of us don't have a firm grasp on this essential truth. Many, if not most, evangelicals profess a belief in the doctrine of the Trinity, but when asked to define the Trinity many of us end up communicating a form of heresy. On top of that Oneness Pentecostals, Black Hebrew Israelites, Jehovah's Witnesses, Mormons, and some Seventh-day Adventists are out there picking off the uninformed and spreading heretical teachings about God. Deception is finding its way into our churches and we need to be prepared!
Today we are going to attempt to explain the Trinity with three simple foundations. These foundations are easy to remember, easy to communicate, and biblical truths that will help you get a biblical and historical grasp on the Trinity. The Doctrine of the Trinity is not irrational, unbiblical, or too difficult to understand for the average believer.
