In this second installment of The Triumphant Christian series at SOR Canada 2026, Apostle Joshua Selman examines a critical paradox: why do sincere, born-again believers, who are ordained for dominion and victory in Christ, still experience defeat, stagnation, and frustration?The teaching establishes that while victory is a finished reality in Christ, its manifestation in the believer's experience is governed by spiritual laws, principles, and systems. Apostle Selman explains that God is relational, but His power operates through patterns that must be understood and engaged.At the heart of the diagnosis are three forms of deficient knowledge: ignorance, inaccurate knowledge, and incomplete knowledge. A believer may genuinely belong to Christ yet remain limited because they lack an accurate understanding of how God functions, how the life of God within them operates, and how the Kingdom of God produces results.The message further addresses the apparent contradiction of unbelievers sometimes excelling in particular areas while believers struggle. Apostle Selman explains that relationship with God and knowledge of kingdom principles serve different but complementary purposes. “Show me your face” speaks to relationship and intimacy, while “show me your ways” speaks to understanding the principles through which dominion is exercised.Using the illustration of a trumpet, he demonstrates that receiving an instrument does not automatically give someone the ability to operate it. In the same way, receiving the life of God gives the believer access and potential, but knowledge is required to translate that potential into experience.The central formula of the teaching is the union of the Life of Christ and the Mind of Christ. The life of Christ is received at salvation, while the mind of Christ is developed progressively through the transformation of the believer's thinking. It is this union that produces experiential victory and dominion.Apostle Selman ultimately presents four categories of people: the failing unbeliever, the excelling unbeliever, the failing believer, and the triumphant Christian. The triumphant Christian is one whose life in Christ is activated and expressed through a renewed mind that understands God's ways.The teaching concludes by connecting the believer's personal victory to the Church's global assignment. The world must not only encounter the Church's God; it must also see the ways of the Kingdom demonstrated through His people. The Church is therefore called to show both the power of intimacy with God and the principles that produce victory, so that the nations can recognize the reality of Christ through the lives of His people.
