Session #013 is devoted to the first half of chapter 9 on the true Christian’s faith and experience concerning Baptism. After passing through the work of regeneration, mortification, self-denial, sanctification and justification, the true Christian is baptized, i.e., immersed into Christ. This is an immersion into the Holy Spirit and inward and spiritual fire that truly clean the inward man. This is the true baptism and washing, not the outward baptism with water which only can symbolize the true baptism which was taught by Christ, baptism with the Holy Spirit and fire. Outward water cannot do that.This spiritual baptism prepares him to sit worthily at the table of the Lord and to experience all the spiritual benefits that await him.The true Christian now has the same mind that was in Christ Jesus. He acts and does what Christ says. This baptism brings all who have undergone it into a unity, into a oneness of being in one body. This is the state of the true Christian.
