The Truest Expression Of Christianity

from Carter Conlon | Daily Devotionals · host Carter Conlon

My father left university to fight a war he did not start. He was only nineteen years old and unafraid to give up his own dreams so that others might live free. He survived being shot down twice while so many never returned. That sacrifice gave me a future I did not earn. And it points to something greater, the heart of God the Father. He gave His Son so that you and I could have life, and He knew the cost. When we understand that kind of love, we stop living for ourselves. I believe that the truest expression of Christianity is found in laying down our lives for the sake of somebody else, for someone who is lost, wounded, hopeless, or maybe has nobody to help them. Ask God a simple thing today. Who is He calling you to fight for now? Ask Him about it. Because, my brother and my sister, the battle is raging. It’s time to pray
