The Truth About Christian Nationalism and the Role of Christians in Politics | The Well Podcast S9E11

In this timely episode of The Well Podcast, Pastor Phil Hopper and host Les Norman dive into the controversial topic of Christian nationalism. They clarify what it is, what it is not, and how Christians can engage in faith and politics with a biblical worldview. Pastor Phil unpacks how religious convictions have always shaped American culture and laws, from the Mayflower Compact to the Constitution. He illustrates America’s Judeo-Christian roots while acknowledging the expanding religious diversity of today. The conversation distinguishes Christian nationalism from Christian activism and patriotism, warning listeners not to confuse active engagement in political issues with the narrow, power-focused ideology of nationalism. Pastor Phil emphasizes that real change starts with the gospel—not legislation or party allegiance. He invites listeners to prioritize the Great Commission and trust in Jesus’ ultimate sovereignty over human affairs. 📌 Supplemental Resources: Hope for Us Sermon Series: https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLR50sV854C2iexloqCRya8Cvqxlm3J2dL&si=eRBB_5-sHI9iB0SQ Connect with us on Social Media ↴ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/abundantlifels/ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/abundantlifels Connect with Pastor Phil ↴ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/PhilHopperKC Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/philhopper_kc Books & Resources: abundant-life.com/resources Learn more about the A-Life Discipleship Journey: https://alife.livingproof.co/ More information on our sermons: https://abundant-life.com/resources/sermons/ Do you want to see your life changed by Jesus?
