Roberts was a cardiologist & Director of The Women’s Cardiac Center at the Miriam Hospital in Providence, Rhode Island. She is the author of the fascinating book The Truth About Statins: Risks and Alternatives to Cholesterol-lowering Drugs. In her book, she says that over the last few decades she had been prescribing statins for her patients when it was indicated, & initially, these medicines seemed safe & reasonably well tolerated.
