The TSA is not requiring passengers to remove their shoes at some security checkpoints around the nation.

from Pittsburgh All Local

An unexpected memo went out to TSA officers across the country last week stating the new policy will allow all passengers to keep their shoes on in all screening lanes at many airports across the country, starting Sunday. Todd Curtis, an aviation safety consultant and creator of Air Safe dot com, says the US is one of the few countries that required it. The change is reportedly in effect at Baltimore/Washington, Fort Lauderdale, Cincinnati, Portland, Philadelphia, New York LaGuardia and LAX. We've reached out to Pittsburgh International for comment and are awaiting a response.
