Guido deBres saw it as his duty to explain to the congregation whatGod had revealed concerning this: “these two natures are sounited together in one person that they are not evenseparated by His death.” The Lord’s Supper is not only a sign,it is also a seal. It offers us the assurance of faith. Through theLord’s Supper, Christ assures us that we are united throughHis body and blood, that we have communion, orparticipation, with Him.
