The Umbra

Steph Something - Composition, Lyrics, Melody, Guitars, Vocals Chris Simplson - All Other Instruments, Mix The Umbra The shadows won The day is done The odds have got us beat Keep turning tricks To get that fix Whoring up and down the street The umbra The darkest part of the dark The darkest thought You didn’t want And in the evening glow To pass the Time away We chase shadows Into the light Until they’re merely shade We were entangled To see what we could see But we ran out of space While playing games Of what might be The umbra The darkest part of the dark The darkest thought You didn’t want But they follow you Just the same They follow you Just the same Oh they follow you Just the same Oh they follow you Night and day Keep turning pages over Blaming all along the way Sent to find a four-leaf clover As it’s sure to fuck me over The umbra The darkest part of the dark The darkest thought You didn’t want But they follow you Just the same They follow you Just the same © Stephanie Gilliard
