The Uncovering of the Relics of Venerable Sergius of Radonezh

Today we remember the uncovering of the relics of Saint Sergius of Radonezh, a great spiritual leader and founder of the Trinity Monastery. His relics were uncovered on July 5, 1422, after the monastery had been devastated by a Tatar invasion. Saint Sergius is known for his deep spiritual insight into the Holy Trinity and for his role in strengthening the Russian Church and nation through prayer and example.
