Soph and Adam founded WhateverFest together in 2010 as an underground independent arts and music festival in Detroit while undergrads at Wayne State University. After graduating WSU both left Detroit, Soph to Berlin and his native Greece, Adam to graduate work with Cambridge University in Edinburgh, the Jack Kerouac School of Naropa University, and California.
