The Unexpected King

from LCC Sunday Messages · host Steve Forrester

2,000 years ago in Jerusalem the crowds cheered the entrance of their long awaited messiah. He was a miracle worker who they believed had come to free them from the oppressive rule of the Romans. Was Jesus the king that was to come to restore Israel? Sadly, the same voices that hailed him as king would in a few days claim they had no king but Caesar. The shouts of "Hosanna! Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord!" would give way to cries of "Crucify Him!" They loved the idea of a king, but one that would meet their own agenda. Jesus wasn't meeting their misguided expectations. Today, we will discuss the events of Christ's Triumphal Entry and see the importance of hailing him as King everyday.
