He also says urgent action is needed to address the effects of the covid-19 pandemic - and climate change. The President says the poor and the most vulnerable - are carrying the brunt of the global challenges such as economic meltdowns. He also appealed for equal access to world markets.  President Cyril Ramaphosa is leading a large South African delegation in New York this week, where the developing world is expected to lay out its expectations on the international stage.
