The United States is at war. No exit plan. No congressional vote. No plan at all.

Day five of Operation Epic Fury and the picture is getting uglier by the hour. The death toll inside Iran has crossed 1,045, including at least 180 children killed in a strike on an elementary girls school. Six American service members are dead, four of them from the 103rd Sustainment Command out of Des Moines, Iowa. Iran has now destroyed two of our billion-dollar radar systems, launched retaliatory strikes on 27 U.S. military bases across the region, and shut down Qatari airspace. This was supposed to be a two to three day operation. Trump is now saying four to five weeks. Maybe longer. Then came the classified briefing. Marco Rubio, Pete Hegseth, and the CIA director sat down with Congress on Tuesday night. Democrats walked out looking shaken. Elizabeth Warren went directly to the public: "It is so much worse than you thought." Senators fear boots on the ground. Multiple House Democrats described what they heard as bullshit. Ed Markey said it confirmed what they already knew: Trump is waging an illegal war with no plan to end it.Meanwhile, Republican operatives are privately calling this a nightmare. Only 27 percent of Americans approve of the strikes. The MAGA coalition is fracturing. And the midterms are coming.Congress is voting this week on war powers resolutions that would require congressional authorization for further military action. Speaker Johnson says he is "praying" he has the votes to kill them. The record matters. Get your representatives on record now.And in the middle of all this, Bernie Sanders and Ro Khanna introduced the Make Billionaires Pay Their Fair Share Act. A 5% annual wealth tax on 938 billionaires. Year one: $3,000 direct payments to every person in a household making under $150,000. A family of four gets $12,000. Over ten years: $4.4 trillion to rebuild Medicaid, cap childcare costs, guarantee teachers a $60,000 minimum salary, and expand Medicare. Less than a thousand people are sitting on the solution to problems politicians keep telling you are unsolvable.Today's action item: find out who your local election official is, how they got there, and how to reach them. Every ballot in November gets counted by someone at the county level. Know their name before it matters.
