The Update- September 24th

from The Update with Brandon Julien · host Brandon Julien

On The Update this Friday, hospitals and nursing homes in New York are bracing for the possibility that a statewide COVID-19 vaccine mandate for health care workers could lead to staff shortages. With a Monday deadline, some hospitals and nursing homes were preparing contingency plans that included cutting back on elective surgeries and trimming medical services. We're gonna take a closer look the latest in a long history of discriminatory U.S policies and indignities faced by black people. The images of men on horseback, appearing to use reins as whips to corral Hatian asylum seekers trying to cross into the U.S from Mexico horrified black observers. And the CDC has endorsed COVID-19 booster shots for millions of older or otherwise vulnerable Americans. The move opens a major new phase in the U.S vaccination drive against the coronavirus.
